About JMWH

My name is Jennifer M. W. Hayes, and I write a family of craft blogs, including JMWH Crafts and JMWH Jewelry, dedicated to anything and everything artistic. I am also a stay-at-home mom,  freelance writer, crafter and Etsy seller, interested in many creative endeavors, from painting and sewing to jewelry-making and creative writing. In addition to my JMWH blogs and Etsy shop, I also write freelance for information and instruction websites, including eHow, Suite101 and Local.com.

My Crafting Genesis
I have, in one way or another, been involved in something creative for as long as I can remember, and have had many influences. Through my mother I learned how to sew, and was introduced to theater and Broadway musicals at a young age. Through my father, a mechanical engineer, I learned drawing and design. By combining the two I began drawing patterns and designing my own crafts and projects. I designed costumes for my high school drama club, and studied art and art history in college.

The Repurposed Packrat
I am an admitted packrat, and my hoarded stash generally consists of craft supplies and other items I think I may use later. There isn't a button, bead, or bobbin that has passed me by. You name it, I've saved it. As a result I have cultivated a love of crafts that utilize found objects or recycle some of my craft clutter. As the Repurposed Packrat, I have found a new purpose for both my hoard and myself. So look for tutorials and idea posts dedicated to found object art and green crafting.
